"Ink-Wash" is the primary language of my artistic career choice and is my fate as well, apart from the influence from my father, my passion for the landscape, and the performance of traditional Chinese paintings…Ink-wash carries with it the symbol of our oriental culture.

The so-called “homeland” is the times we are in and the nature we are spending life in, while traditional culture is another way of homeland. When you walk in this place, you will be impressed deeply and experience an infinite expression space. What’s challenging the Artists is to transfer this sensation into their personal, stylized works of art, and it requires them to feel and practice with the attitude of “Arts rule out everything”. My father used to describe this tough road as “Easy and Difficult ”, and “Hardworking school”, and “Make down-to-earth efforts to achieve wisdom”. “Learning from ancestors”, “Never stop asking questions” and “Making progress by learning” have always been my beliefs. “Balance between reality and imagination” is the achievement from my experiences in Inks creation over the past years. “Absorbing in” and “Turning to your own advantage” are my attitude towards foreign culture and contemporary visual experience. I have always tried to connect tradition with the nature and the life, in order to constantly search for the new expression of ink-wash art.

I believe art stars from impression, and art is the traces of the times that life has gone through. When I look back, I feel like a traveler of life, while my works are what I have been doing on my way of exploring.
